Unprecedented number of participants and visitors at Balttour 2012

The 19th International Travel Trade Fair “Balttour 2012” finished successfully on 12 February! Travel market, the vastness of the world, cultural diversity, hospitality of Latvia’s regions, the taste of travelling – the epicentre of the tourism industry – that is how we could describe the three-day event that took place at Kipsala International Exhibition Centre in Riga, Latvia. Tourism professionals, media and participants about “Balttour 2011”

Kitija Gitendorfa,

President of the Association of Latvian Travel Agents (ALTA), Director of Amadeus Latvija

“Balttour 2011” followed new organisational concept and the results proved it right. It was all about the proficiency of participants, their ability to introduce and to sell their products, and visitors’ readiness to buy them. And that created a success story!

Raitis Sijāts,

Vidzeme Tourism Association, Chairman of the Board

After a long time, we can say that “Balttour” is a real festival! It is a festival for both participants and visitors. We could judge it from the happy faces and the good comments of visitors. I was positively surprised with this large number of visitors! Most of participants run short of handouts already on the second day of event. Participants gained plenty of new contacts that will positively affect their business. “Balttour 2011” was the best tradeshow of the decade. I have not heard anything bad about it even from the biggest sceptics!

Konstantīns Paļgovs,

Tez Tour, Director

“Balttour 2011” was the best show in recent years in terms of organisational matters, the number of visitors and participant readiness. It was a big step towards reaching the aim of BT 1 and ALTA – to make “Balttour” the largest travel market in Northern Europe in next five years.

Anta Jokste,

FTB Latvia, Director

During three days of “Balttour 2011” we managed to sell as much travel deals as we normally do in several months. The tradeshow was perfect! People have understood that “Balttour” is not just a tradeshow, but also a big travel market. Moreover, participants can get back money they invested with great interest.

Gaida Matisone,

"Telegraf", Journalist

“Balttour 2011” was certainly the best travel fair in recent years. The ambience was great that welcomes participants, guests and visitors. Perhaps, it was owing to the stabilised economic situation. The work of fairground architects and designers was enjoyable.

Ieva Skutule,

Ogre and Ikskile Tourism Development Agency, Director

The new “Balttour” concept – two halls “Travel Latvia!”, “Discover the World!” as well as the outdoor adventure area – was a perfect solution that should not be changed in the future. If there were any organisational uncertainties, they were settled quickly and efficiently.

Rainelda Rubīne-Litauniece,

SIA ArGaumi, Chairman of the Board

“Balttour 2011” is a perfect tradeshow in terms of organisational matters, massive advertising campaign and enjoyable business party. Many thanks to organisers for cooperative attitude already in pre-event stage.

Inga Barinska,

Gulbene Local Municipality Tourism Information Centre (TIC), Director

Every year Gulbene Local Municipality takes part in “Balttour” to remind of and tell something new about this part of Latvia. We did really like the arrangement of theme halls – “Travel Latvia!” and “Discover the World!” that facilitated navigation through the fair to find the right and necessary information. This year costs of both participation and attending were democratic. It was a good idea to arrange an arts and crafts market during the fair. “Balttour” is an excellent place to meet potential clients and cooperation partners. It is both common work and festivity!
