Programme: Thematic Hall "Travel Latvia!"

  • The hall “Travel Latvia!” will delight the gourmet audience with regional varieties of Latvian traditional cuisine, as well as will present a wide variety of handcrafted items.
  • The best amateur groups, dancers, musicians, singers will perform shows and concerts on the main stage. Lotteries and competitions with prize fund including more than 50 different travel and entertainment-related gifts will be held.

Balttour 2011 Travel Trade Fair to Open!

 

The 18th International Travel Trade Fair “Balttour 2011”, the biggest travel industry event in the Baltic countries annually introducing a new travel season, opens at Kipsala International Exhibition Centre, Riga, Latvia on Friday, 11 February.

 

The "Balttour 2011" Opening Ceremony takes place at Kipsala International Exhibition Centre, Hall “Travel Latvia!” at 12.00 on Friday, 11 February.

Programme: Thematic Hall "Discover the World!"

  • Visitors will find out much about bathing habits visiting Bathhouse Lane in the hall “Discover the World!”, moreover, they will have an opportunity to get bathhouse attendants’ advice on issues yet unknown and information on bathing habits today and bathhouses as a new and important tourism product.
  • “Balttour 2011” will pay special attention to the tiniest travellers and their parents presenting a special “Kids Travel Zone” in the hall “Discover the World!” where parents will find expert counsel on the domestic and outbound travel opportunities and such mandatory preventive measures as health insurance, immunisation and other measures to be taken if travelling with kids.
  • At travel video show on the mezzanine of the hall “Discover the World!” visitors will find lots of ideas and inspiration for future travels.

Programme: Open-Air Adventures

  • In the open-air area everyone will have a good time skating, sledding, taking a dog sled ride, drinking tea in the ice bar or watching amazing creations of ice sculpting.

Enjoy Dog Sled Ride Around Kipsala!

 

The 18th International Travel Trade Fair “Balttour 2011” this year offers visitors yet inexperienced enjoyment – a breathtaking ride in a dog sled. The Siberian Huskies – winter sled dogs of the Chukchi people of Siberia bred through the centuries to help people travel long distances through the harshest conditions in the far north of our planet – will settle at Kipsala International Exhibition Centre from 11 to 13 February.
